Upgrading your home with energy efficient HVAC systems can earn you rebates up to $5,000
If you are not a Union Gas or Enbridge customer, switching to natural gas can save you up to $3,000 each year, in addition to a rebate of $750 for replacing your old boiler for replacing your old furnace. Upgrading your home with energy efficient renovations and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems can also earn you rebates up to $5,000.
The time to switch to natural gas for your home’s heating could not be better. The prices are the lowest they’ve ever been, and a rise isn’t expected for years.
In comparison to propane, oil or electric heating, using natural gas to heat your home and water can bring you average yearly savings of $2,000 – $2,400. An additional $500 can be saved yearly by using natural gas for home appliances such as dryer, range, barbecue or fireplace. In addition to seeing monthly savings, improving your home’s overall energy conservation in 2018 means you could qualify for Union Gas and Enbridge giving you massive rebates.
Improve your home’s overall energy conservation
If you have ever thought about making upgrades or renovations to your home or saving money on your energy bills, the Home Reno Rebate Program helps you put that plan into action.
How do I know if I qualify?
In order to qualify for the rebate program, you need to currently be either a Union Gas or Enbridge customer or live in an area that is serviced by Union Gas and Enbridge, even if it’s not available in your area. Using natural gas, a propane furnace or boiler, oil, or a wood stove as the primary source of heat in your home is required, as is owning your home. Electrically heated houses qualify for window, door and insulation rebates but not for the heating system rebates.
Homes that qualify include detached houses, semi-detached houses, row homes and mobile homes on a permanent foundation. Below is a list of approved upgrades. You must complete two upgrades to qualify for the rebate program.
Qualifying can result in receiving rebates totalling up to $5,000. Included in that amount is up to $600 for the energy assessments and for the two or more upgrades you’ve completed. To ensure your home has met the requirements to qualify, contact the EnergyWerx team.
Energy assessments must be completed by a Registered Energy Advisor both before and after your renovations in order to qualify for rebates.
